Dear friends, thank you for your help and constant support!

We have collected half of the sum needed for the moving of the Kochnovyj family from Donetsk, of whose children two are severely ill. The family has found a suitable option and with the help from our colleagues from the foundation ‘Predanie’ their dream of providing their children with suitable life circumstances and rehabilitation is soon to be fulfilled.

In March, these children need our help:

Yulia Rabinovich from Moscow, 10 years, diagnosis: erythrodermia congenita ichthyosiformis. Yulichka has a rare genetic illness, which is described in medical books as a complete infection of the skin with a formation of ‘fish scales’. The child lives for years at a time practically without any skin. Only the doctors in Munich were able to achieve good results due to the right combination of medications, balms and special bandage apparatus. The family is forced to constantly travel to Munich for hospitalization and medication, which is not sold in Russia. We ask not only for your one-off financial support, but also for continuous support over a few months. The family needs 1000 euros per month for the medication.

Sofia Mushkudiani from Georgia with a severe ICP, 5 years. The girl, coming from a family of asylum seekers, is in rehabilitation at the clinic of Ratingen. Due to a oxygen starvation during birth, Sofia cannot swallow, hold her head, sit. The main problem is the constant lung infections, as the moisture accumulated by the body isn’t gotten rid of naturally. The only way to solve this problem is to get her a Galileo vibrio platte, which will do it for her. The apparatus costs 3240 euros.

Isabella Belova from Ufa, 7 years, diagnosed with retinoblastoma. The child is in treatment at the oncology department of Essen. The operation has taken place, one eye has been removed, the other eye sees to 10%. Isabella and her mum have been going to Essen for a couple of years now for regular checkups. At the most recent one the doctors have confirmed the suspicions of the Russian doctors that there was a relapse and recommended an MRT with narcosis. The cost is 1300€ and another 700€ for tickets.

Apart from financial support, we are also looking for people for April who could be helpful to a
girl which will be coming to the university clinic of Ulm for an oncology treatment. Who could
help her family with translations?

And, since summer has almost dawned on us I want to share our annual joyous news: in July we
will hold our next Day of the Orthodox Volunteer! The Day of the Volunteer 2018 will be
taking place in Darmstadt from the 6th to the 8th of July and will be dedicated to the memory of
Elisaveta Fedorovna. We invite everyone who’s interested, regardless of where you live,
Volunteer work experience, gender, age and religious belief! Registration and further
information will be published at the start of April on our website orthodiakonia.de

programme planning, financing, informational and any other kind of support for the Day of the
Volunteer!
