I wish to thank you for all-round support of our children: not only of those requiring funds, but also of those who require our time and human warmth!

Our achievements in February:

Although not much, yet we could reduce the need of funds for Dana Aganesova (8 m.o., heart disease, shunting) and Misha Pavlega (4 y.o., sarcoma, neuroblastoma). We go on with these collections.
We have found a sponsor for Varvara Shenyagina (3 y.o., retinoblastoma) who paid her trip to Germany for the health check-up needed.
We have organized the treatment and covered the housing costs of Andrey Derugin (15 y.o., cerebral palsy), who came to Ratingen clinics in the end of February.

In total, Diakonia currently supports 36 children and families while at least 11 calls for help are still in queue!

 

Natalya Dolmatova from Perm, 11 y.o., brain cancer, relapse. She has been treated in Charite clinics, Berlin. The control check-up has revealed a relapse, a tumor (medulloblastoma) has been found. Owing to urgency, the German doctors have started the treatment despite the lack of funds. The cost estimate amounts to EUR 33,650. To continue the treatment of Natalya, EUR 10,000 must be paid by May.

 

 

We are helping to Vika Vakatova, 7 y.o., high dislocation of the hip joints, progressive scoliosis, for several years already. Owing to the persistence of her parents and skills of Swiss doctors, she could achieve a remarkable progress for this time. The concluding surgery on hip joints should take place in March. The bill of Kinderspital clinic in Zurich amounts to SF 19,000 (EUR 17,300). One needs to collect EUR 12,000.

 

 

 

Levon Avargzhanyan, 3 y.o., cerebral palsy, arrested psychomotoric and speech development, requires rehabilitation in Junior Rehabilitation Center “Rodnik” in St.Petersburg. The cost of 4-week course is RUB 225,160 (EUR 3,000). Already upon the first visit to the Center the little one has achieved a lot: he learned to seat and walk with support. His mother knows: one should not stop now! And calls for help. The money is required by May 20, 2016.

 

 

Alyona Ivanova, 1 year 8 month old, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. A half of her life the little one has spend in oncological hospital. This is where she learned to speak and walk … This is where she was refused by doctors when the quotas came to the end and the time had been wasted. Upon looking into her medical documents, several German clinics are ready to accept the child for treatment. The cost estimates vary from EUR 235,000 to EUR 290,000. EUR 140,000 has been already collected, but this is not enough to start the treatment. Yet it has to begin as soon as possible since Alyona gets weaker. Each day counts.

 

 

Stanislav Sychenkov from Kazan, 26 y.o., heart disease, requires a surgery in Cardiocenter Berlin. The applied math student of Kazan University gets worse. His mother says they have 3-4 month before his heart deteriorates irreversibly. Most unfortunately, almost no charity fund helps adults. The only hope is the help of people concerned with suffering of other. EUR 29,980 is required.

 

 

 

A big family of our colleague Leonid Markov calls for help. Leonid is employed in charity fund “Diakonia” that primarily works with drug addicts as consultant on chemical dependencies in rehabilitation centers and in the social adaptation center.
From his letter: Our eldest son Andrei, 12 y.o., is handicapped. He has neurotic disorder and speech problems. He follows special education. I am the only breadwinner in the family, my wife does not work. We develop the kids as far as we can afford. The eldest son gets logopedic therapy every week, attends a guitar course, yet quit dance lessons for lack of money.   I ask you for a financial help to pay extra logopedic therapy, physiotherapy sessions, medicine prescribed by neurologist and psychiatrist, RUB 20,000 (EUR 265) per month. I would also be grateful for a financial help of RUB 65,000 (EUR 867) for the organization of summer vacation in the country with wellness treatment for my handicapped son, and for all my kids.
